Hi
I`d lived in the Dominican Republic for nearly 9 months but I had no residency so I
suppose it`s impossible to get a police certificate.Would it affect my application?
One more thing:I am a civil engineer,do I need to meet the licensing requirements for
engineers in Canada?
Any advice would be much appreciated

You must obtain a police clearance certificate from every country you = have lived in
since your 18th birthday if you lived there for six months = or more. =20
Depending on the visa post you apply to, you may be exempt from = obtaining certain
certificates.=20
You should check out how to get it from the DR, you may find it is not = all that
difficult.
To meet licensing requirements as an engineer in Canada you will have to = be a PR of
Canada. However, for Immigration purposes, you can have your = credentials assessed
by the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers = to determine whether you would be
eligible for licensing if you were to = become a PR.
You may also wish to take advantage of the free assessments offered by = various
firms like ours.
