Dear experts,
Writer applied Canada Independent immigration two months ago and so far no letter of
notification received from US Consulate General. With a sense of anxiousness, have
following concerns and would deeply appreciate any of your advise:
1. How long to receive such letter now with understanding that normally it takes
about 8 weeks??
2. I have changed my address lately. Will it be any impact on processing speed of my
application??
3. Regarding police certificate, I used local police criminal clearance report
without going through FBI report. Is it OK or I have to get report from FBI??
4. How long does it take to get GR if without interview requirement??

1. I assume that you applied in Buffalo Processing Centre, 10-12 weeks for AOR
2. No, but once the AOR is received at your old address, you will have to inform
them of your new addresss. Almost impossible to inform of address change until
you have file no.
3. You need FBI clearance, suggest you read instructions that came with
application.
4. Assume by GR you mean PR, it depends on category of application but for non IT
12 to 14 months.
