Hi,
Me and my wife are in the process of renting out our house for a year so we can participate in the 2o13 IEC. We are looking to go in april time if applications come back in time.

So on with the questions.

1 - I am a electrician and cant work without red seal approval. does anyone know if a can work as a labourer or mate for a electrician.

2 - rough idea on actual processing times for iec application.

3 - Anyone complete a successfull application as a couple. any advice.

4 - we were going to aplly for the acpo certificates but thought it might not be on this year and might waste 90 quid. any confirmation

thank you all in advance for reading and your replies.

You can work as a labourer and do some work supervised by a certified electrician. Red Seal are no more than an endorsement of the provincial training authority program. You have to be certified by the provincial training authority to work withing that province unsupervised. If the trade is Red Seal endorsed, you can use that same qualification in any other province.

Thanks for info.
Do you know rough rates for working as labourer or working whilst being supervised?

Is this for the Ontario region as well?

Are you a electrician in Canada yourself?
