My husband a Canadian Citizen has sponsored me and my children under the Family Pilot
Project scheme. I live in India. The time line so far has been:

Mid March- Application sent by my husband to processing centre in Canada.

1st week Apr- receive letter confirming receipt of application

End May- receive letter to say that the application to sponsor wife and family has
been approved, however, after careful review of wifes immigration application it
appears that an interview will be required in order to determine if she meets the
requirements for immigration to Canada.

I have been divorced earlier and have full custody of my children. I have several
years of work experience in very good positions and companies.

I would like to know ,
1) now that the Pilot scheme has been withdrawn w.e.f. June 2001, how long would it
be before I am called for the interview.
2) What could the reason be behind my interview, I had the impression that under the
Pilot scheme there was a waiver on interviews.
3) what kind of questions could they pose
4) what documents should I prepare myself with
5) Might I expect the visas to be issued immediately after the interview.

Thank you

1. Pilot project ends in June, but applications submitted before that and selected
for processing under the program will be processed as such. Your interview date
will be anywhere from few weeks to few months from the transfer of your files back
to New Delhi.

2. Only applications selected to be processed in Canada under pilot project (only
7,000 randomly selected from all submitted within program period from
participating countries) and not requiring any additional clarifications are
concluded without an interview. There are many reasons for the interview, so it is
impossible to tell you why you need one without knowing details of your case. The
most common reason for interview in spousal applications is to establish bona fide
of the relationship.

3. See the above

4. Interview letter will tell you what documents you should bring with you.

5. Highly unlikely.
