Please advise - any way of extending my stay in canada!
Mr Humphries or Mr Miller:
I seriously need some advice here. I completed my degree at a Canadian
university, and am currently working at a company on a work permit due to
the post-graduate employment program which is valid till Feb 2004. I cannot
have my a post-graduate employment extended as it is good for upto a year.
My employer has applied to HRDC to have my work permit extended. However, i
am almost certain that HRDC will reject it. Is there some way i can extend
my stay in Canada beyond Feb 2004 if HRDC rejects my case?
I applied for immigration earlier this year (feb 2003) and am wondering if
there is some way i can stay in canada for another year, assuming that my
case will be processed in the next year or so.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks for your time and attention

There is no magic trick allowing you to remain in Canada for that long - you
may of course try to change status to visitor and it may be granted for few
months, but extending it beyond that may be difficult. Why won't you instead
concentrate on finding a job offer that may be validated by HRDC or sign up
for another year or so of school.
