I would like to purchase a prepaid phone card to call India from
Canada. Does anyone have any recommendations in terms of rates and
connection quality?
Thanks in advance!

All of them are mediocre at best, that I've tried atleast. Most of have
poor customer service at best and can really screw you with disconnects.
Personally I have had the best luck with a $30.00 headset and call using
Primus and MSN Messenger. The rates for for the country I call is cheaper
that most cards and the quality and service is much better. If you choose
to go this route I would look at the various services as rates will vary.

If you want, I can recommend you to sign up for a long distance plan that you can call India at 49 cents or 52 cents(depending on your plan) a minute which is extremely good. There's no connection fee, no cancellation fee and the customer service is really good. The only thing is that if you sign up with the 49 cents plan, there is a $1 charge for the first min but in case of answering machine or the line screwing up, you don't get charged as long as the call is within a minute. The customer service is very good.
Where in Canada are you though?
