Default Open Ended Diploma

Have been advised that the Diploma I obtained is an open ended one by the University and can be studied for as long as the pupil desires.

I am assuming that the worst case scenario will be taken by immigration in that whatever period it took you to achieve the qualification will be what they class it as ?

Now kinda wishing it had taken me three years instead of cramming it into one, serves me right for being a smarty pants !!

I do not think that your diploma would have been recognized as anything but a 1 year course of study in any case. You can of course change to another longer program if that makes sense to you for your own future plans.
