Again it's all ur personal choices what exactly you want.
I am from India but working in U.S.A since long.
My wife is from Canadian origon.
And we want to migrate to Australia.
We have our own reason's that why australia is a better choice for
long-run.
It's totally personal prospective and what u want.
While deciding where u wanna settle don't think of US economy just
think what exactly u want.
By the way its easier to migrate to Canada then to Australia.
Australia has tougher requirement's for migration but a faster
process.

Food for thought:
In the past couple of years I have noticed a very interesting phenomenon:
Australian women (and some men) go on Canadian chatrooms in search of a Canadian mate so they can immigrate to Canada.

Just think about that one...

It can be true , I am not denying that some aussies go to canadian chat room to look for some1 who can help them in migrating to canada... if you say so!!!
My question to you
Do you Agree its a human nature to think Grass is green on the other side of fence?
Have You lived in both countries?
If 'no' then you don't know.
Quality of life is much better in Australia than in Canada.
I can only argue with someone who has lived in both countries for a couple of YEARS.

Exactly !
And that was my point about good competition in the early days of an
industry.
During the 1980s, the PC/software industry was just starting out - it was
evolving, changing rapidly.
Companies could either make a killing (like Microsoft did those days) or
could go out of business very quickly.
After an industry matures, it is only the big fish that can take on other
big fishes and eat them up.
It is hard to imagine today that one tobacco-chewing guy running a software
company from his garage can eat up Microsoft.
Yet, that is how a lot of the corporations started out, including Microsoft,
Dell and Apple (most run by college drop-outs with a vision).

I agree with you on that.
However, when choosing a country where you want to live for the rest of your
life, you also take into account the "quality of life".
IMO, that includes things like weather, politics, culture, and many other
things.
Job opportunities is one of many factors.

    > Australia is
    > very much lacking on Oil front/Chemicals/Refining / petroproducts. They
    > are yet to fully utilize benefits of office automation. Where as
    > US/Canada are front runners in Bio sciences.
    > Once I think of myself and
    > my kids, odds are more in favor of CANADA, dispite chilling cold.

Cold is not such a big factor initially.
There are ways to cope with it.
I mean in the US too, you find really good weather only in certain parts
(the south-east, California and a few other handful of places).
Most of the other places (including the entire north east and the mid west
are extremely cold for the most part).
Anybody who has lived in Wisconsin, Idaho, or Minnesota will know.
Toronto and Vancouver cannot be any worse.

Cold starts to become as factor as one grows older and warmer weather is
important for several reasons.
The cold gets to your bones and you need to get away from it more often.
But by that time, hopefully, one has enough saved up to go into partial or
full retirement and enjoy warmer weather.
Canadian passport is usually a big advantage for most people immigrating
from other countries and they can travel to most destinations without a
visa.

For me, having lived in different countries in North America for several
years and in the UK briefly before that, Canada was an easy choice.
I did not seriously consider Australia because it seemed a totally different
part of the world, different culture and would have been a huge change.
So it is very much a personal choice.

My $0.02.

Obviously, I have been to Canada...
At some point I was seriously considering migrating to Australia. But after an extensive research and conversing with immigrants, I have decided against it. Although I qualify for both countries, I applied for an immigrant visa for Canada and got it a while back.
now, I have to ask, are you a male or a female?
I have a feeling you're a male, since it is well known that Australian men treat their cars better than they treat their women. Therefore, no wonder Aussie women are flocking to Canada, where they are treated better by men.

I have met Canadian men, and I have met Australian men. No room for comparison. Wouldn't go for an Aussie. Sorry.
