NOC, occupation and job title
Good evening everyone.
I am filling up my PR application, and I have some questions regarding
my occupation.
My job title, and the one that my employer has put in my reference
letter is "IT Consultant / Computer Systems Analyst"...
But most of my work is done under NOC classification 2173 "Software
Engineer", and some under 2172 "Information System Analysts and
Consultants".
Under my current occupation, what should I write? My best guess is
"Software Engineer", NOC 2173, because my responsabilities where
mainly those, but it conflicts with my job title and employment
letters.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It happened to me as well. Its a kind of tricky.
My suggestion would be to go For Systems Analsyst and not programmer. what you can do is to show them how yrs of experience as programmer have now accumulated to qualify for a systems analyst.
Your previous experience can be showing NOC code as a programmer, thats fine. But since current references are as a SA going in for the same while filing your application.Rest is your choice, else as your employer to give you another ref as a programmer not SA
