Default No News :(

Hi all,

I applied for my immigration from Canada last summer (May 2002) and
eventually got my file number in December 2002. Since then there is no
news on the process. I am totally in the dark. Are people who have
applied during those times experiencing the same or am i the only one ?

I am in Canada, pursuing my Masters in Computer Science at the
University of Manitoba. does applying for immigration while in Canada
slows the process ?

thanks,
Sri

p.s: have applied to Buffalo Office

It would be a good idea to browse through recent posts - same questions as
yours are posted here and answered every day for past year or two.

Buffalo is currently assessing applications received in February 2002, thus
you still have few months (at least) to wait for your turn. In the meantime
you should complete new application forms and collect all updated supporting
documents - you applied in May 2002 using old forms and old checklist, but
you will be assessed under new law and your application package must meet
new requirements. Don't forget to also get proof of your language
proficiency. You may wait for request for all of that from Buffalo or you
may just submit it as soon as possible to assure that your case meets new
standards.
