Hi, first time posting on here. Tried to look through to see if I could find anything similar.

I am hoping to gain a WHV with Canada for the next season. I have just received my ACRO police check from UK. It states "no live trace". I know for PR application they will look into it. Does anyone have any experience with WHV? Do they ask for details and will you have to gain the info from the police or can you just tell them yourself.

I have a very stupid background. When I was young, I was in temporary council housing. In one of the houses I found a stun gun. I left it there but didn't report it to the police. They searched my apartment for fake cheques (fraud happened on my account, they thought it was me to begin with - it wasn't - after investigating it, they dropped the charges, nothing further happened) anyway, as I didn't hand in the stun gun they gave me a caution for that! This all happened before I turned 18. I think I was 16. It was 13 years ago!

Any information to put my mind at ease would be appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it as you were under 18 at the time .

Thanks for your reply. I'm trying not to worry however I thought as it was before I was 18 then I wouldn't have a record. It states no live trace though.

Under UK law you don’t thanks to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. This doesn’t apply abroad however hence ‘No Live Trace’. How individual foreign governments treat the offence will be up to them.
