The best option is to get yourself into a short-term furnished apartment to give
yourself time to settle in and get a feel for the city and where you might want to live.
Here are a few:
Mayfair Mansions (stayed here, basic but reasonable, in a good area) 398 Avenue Rd.
Toronto, ON M4V 2H4 Mon -Fri 10:00am- 6:00pm Tel: (416) 924-2126 Fax: (416) 924-2128
http://www.toronto.com/E/V/TORON/0011/22/15/
IB Amonsen Real Estate (stayed here too, wooden floors, a little noisy if you're not on
the top floor) 1920 Bloor Street West Toronto, ON M6P 3K8 Tel: 416-769-1909 or
416-769-3014
Glen Grove Suites (haven't stayed here but it's more expensive than the first two)
www.glengrove.com
You can search www.toronto.com for others.
As for more permanent accommodation, I lived in an apartment complex (only 3 floors high)
at Yonge/Sherwood in Toronto for a while (11,15 and 25 Sherwood Ave I believe). There are
3 (or maybe 4) similar red brick buildings on the right on Sherwood as you turn into
Sherwood from Yonge St. It 's a great area just north of Yonge/Eglinton, within walking
distance of parks, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, banks, Yuk Yuk's comedy
club, Berlin's night club and the subway. Also there's a major grocery store at
Yonge/Eglinton. I lived there for 4 years and never needed a car.
You're moving to a great city - I lived there for 7 years. Good luck!

I would recommend you learn how to spell Toronto, before you move to it.

What a great help! World is such a nice place because of such people who do the nit
picking rather than solving the problem.
Muzammil, I hope you must have found an apartment by this time.
