New Business App Guide Contradicts Itself - help please!
Some Clarity Please
In the new (06/02) IMM 4000E Guide for 'Business Class Applicants' the requirement
regarding Police Clearences is very confusing and contracdictory.
Page 17 states:
Step 5 (before submitting application)
"Obtain a Police Certificate from every country in which you, or your family members
aged 18 or more, have lived for 6 months or longer since reaching age The Visa office
will provide you with instructions"
(Oh yeah? How the hell are they going to do that when there is absolutely no means of
contacting them?)
Appendix A Page A-1
States exactly the same as the above, word for word!
Appendix B Page B-1
Has the same blurb yet again followed by: "....a Police Certificate for each country
in table 1 and in which you have lived etc.. etc........"
Appendix B Page B-2 Has a list of 75 countries including the United States
"If you have lived in a country that is not on the above list, we may still do
criminal investigations on your behalf. We will contact you if we need more
information" "If you have lived in the United States you must provide a state and FBI
certificate"
Ok! So which is it? All countries? Or just those on the list? Because the UK is not
on the list and neither is Taiwan. We have lived in the US for over 20 yrs but come
from the UK and Taiwan respectively.
Also, what the hell are State Clearances and how does one go about getting them? I've
lived in Texas and now, California. My husband Ohio, Georgia and California. Where do
we get these things from?
Also regarding the actual Application IMM 0008 Generic?
In the old guide they asked for 3 copies for each applicant (3 of us so that would be
9 copies total!!) Under the new guide only the Principal Applicant has to complete
one (with family listed on it as before) and no copies are required (3 of us ONE copy
total!!) Can this really be true? What did they do with other 8 copies before?!?
Any enlightenment truly appreciated,
Max
