Default In need of experience! ''in process''

Hey expat world once again!
Years ago this website got me through a massive massive change in my life and now just for fun i'm doing it all over again!lol

Long story short I moved to oz in 08 and met a Canadian(go figure) and now we have applied for sponsorship pr through the Sydney office (Aus not N.S)My fiancée has been approved for sponsorship and now the file has been posted back to Sydney for processing. My status on-line has just changed to "in process" can some one out there tell me what sort of time frame to expect after this? I know it says on the site 7months but I know from my oz PR that often this is not quite accurate! and I'm assuming other people here have gone through this before.

I'm so anxious because I'm keep the process a secret from my partner and i'm just going to take her out to dinner to tell her i have PR!

I hope you can keep a secret for an unspecified length of time then lol.

Some (although it does depend on the processing office) will get ppr pretty much immediately - most will be waiting the specified time on the website - a few unfortunate buggers will lose the will to live with the amount of time it takes. (Guess which category I'm in )

You could order your gcms notes (computerised notes that CIC keep and have to release to you if you request them (not sure how muc as I haven't ordered mine - I just want to be surprised when it eventually happens) and see what stage of processing they are at!!!!

They charge an administration fee of $5.

I'll probably have PR by the time they come through though. I think they say they get them out within 30 days, but most people (from what I've read on here) end up waiting a bit longer.

Thanks! I'm getting rather fed up with it all now. Biggest thing thats cheesing me off is that we're wanting to buy a house, but it's a pain in the arse on a TWP. Aargh, pull your finger out Buffalo!
