Mr.Miller Please help
I applied for Canadian Immigration under the skilled worker category in August of 2002.
I have a bachelor's & a masters degree from the United States, do I still need to give the IELTS for english language proficiency?
The reason i am asking is, as my admission document form I20 says the student has the required english language proficiency..
Any one in similar situation?
Thank you

Re: Mr.Miller Please help
Your admission document is irrelevant. You must submit acceptable evidence
conclusively demonstrating your proficiency in English. The only acceptable
tests are IELTS and CELPIP - they are also the only clearly objective proof.
Any substitute evidence must clearly and conclusively demonstrate your
proficiency in each ability - speaking, writing, reading and listening - as
per Canadian Language Benchmarks. If you don't want to take the test then
download the CLB from here:
http://www.language.ca/pdfs/clb_adults.pdf
and follow their benchmarks for each ability when preparing substitute
evidence. I can bet you now that after finding out what you need to prove
with substitute evidence you'll decide that taking IELTS test is a much
easier task.
