Mr. MILLER, please answer
hello, how long does it takes to get the CAIPS file from sending to receiving
by express mail. Also, i was told that wait until the interview is completed
for the caips notes, so i would know there decision, if negative, can appeal.
then i thought why not get one now and know what to expect at the interivew
and and apply for another rightafter the interview, and if negative then just
deal with it then. what do u suggest. i'm lost.
i have a relative in canada, who would not mind to request for caips file. what
forms do i have to fill out?
-we'll be ever thankful to you for your guidance and help in this newsgroup.

Re: Mr. MILLER, please answer
It depends from the workload CIC office in Ottawa has at a time and what
exactly was requested - it may take anywhere from couple weeks to 45 - 60 days.
Requesting only CAIPS file printout will not delay processing of the
application, but requesting copy of the entire file will. Requesting CAIPS
printout may be useful at any stage of the process, especially prior to
interview. Any person residing in Canada authorized by you may send request,
but you need someone with expertise to fully decipher and analyze the file as
most of it is in codes. Go to the Canadian government website and do the search
for Access to Information - you'll find there everything you need to apply for
what you need.
