Mr.Miller and other experts - Help please
Sir
I used to see your postings. I need a help. This is my case and we
have applied for canadian immigration March 2003 and we got AOR in
June 2003.
My husband is the principal applicant and he is doing master's in US.
We
are Indian citizens. I'm working in US in H-1 Visa. My degree is
bachelor's degree.
and about the points
Age 10/10
Education at present 22/25 and at Jan 2004 25/25 (as my husband
completes his master's by coming Dec 2003)
Experience 21/21
Adapatablity 4/10 (spouse)
Language 16/24 (considering CHC awards full mark) he didnt take IELTS
but he is had all the Education (from school to college in India in
English and worked with English as his official Language and a
statement from
his university that the student is having required english proficiency
and he has taken TOFEL) will this be enough or does he need to take
IELTS.
Your opinion and advice would be helpful
Thanks

Re: Mr.Miller and other experts - Help please
You clearly don't have enough points at this moment as in the best scenario
(with 16 points for language) all you'll get is 71 points. How did you come
up with 22 points for his education? You need 2 Bachelor level degrees with
15 years of education, or a non-university trade/apprenticeship certificate
(which is probably not the case as he is doing his Master's now) to get 22
points. If he has only single Bachelor degree obtained after 14 years of
education than it is only 20 points for education.
As far as English proficiency proof goes - you may gamble with what you
submitted and hope for 16 points or your husband can take IELTS test, score
7.0 or better in all 4 skills and make sure that you'll get 16 points. The
choice (gambling or being sure) is yours to make.
Once your husband obtains his Master's degree his points score will go up to
76, providing that he will then have at least 17 years of education. If he
will have less than 17 years but at least 15 years of education after his
Master's his score will only be 73 points - still not enough.
So, what is the number of his education years (itemize please), how many
degrees he has and when he gets his Master's?
