Mr Miller & Mr Jim

I guess I was not clear in my earlier post abt finding a immigration lawer in lagos. here i go again

My borther works in lagos , nigeria and wud like to apply for canadian PR. he is trying to find a reliable immigration lawer who specialises in canadian immigration to help him submit his case. The only reason he is trying to find one in lagos itself is that it will be easy to communicate in terms of submitting docs and paying fees etc. Also a lawer in logos might be cheap. I ma not sure how much it will cost to hire a immigration lawer in canada. Apart from this I think he does not have any problems in hiring a lawer in canada. Anyways Mr Miller i will ask my brother to send you an email on this.

Any other tip wud be appreciated.

thanks

You were quite clear in your post - and you got few also quite clear replies
advising you to seek assistance of immigration practitioner in Canada for
obvious reasons. Let me repeat the main reason - foreign based agents cannot
receive any information about the case from CIC. So, what if it is cheap to
hire someone in Lagos if such agent can't provide service you are looking
for? Canadian law prohibits release of any information pertaining to
immigration application to anyone who is not residing in Canada.

Also note that in any case of dispute between applicant and agent there is
nothing Canadian authorities can do if such agent is not based in Canada.

No offence to you and other law abiding Nigerians - but after years of
Nigerian fraud present all over the Internet I would be very careful seeking
assistance from any Nigerian source.
