Mr. Andrew Miller, pl. help
I got my assessment of interview from Buffalo recently,
in the letter, it indicated that my interview will take place NY within the next 7 to 10 months. Because of the huge appications in buffalo, I wonder the possibility that my interview will be conducted during this period?
Generally speaking, can I know if I am accepted or refused immediately after interview at NY.
If I am accepted and bring all necessary documents, including valid medical exam, new fingerprint from RCMP etc, can i get my passport stamped after interview.
If I am rejected, can I get a visa from Canada embassy in NY back to Canada to continue my graduate study (my second Master degree will be finished in August 2004 in Canada, and my study permit is valid)
Thanks

If at the interview a positive selection decision is made then you will know
about it - either interviewer will tell you that without being asked or you
will have to ask and you'll get the answer. It is highly unlikely to get PR
visa the same day, even if medicals and background/security check results are
already in - although you may get it rather soon. Just recently one of my
clients interviewed in the third week of September in NY asked at the end of
the interview when he should pay ROLF and was told to pay it the same day - he
run to the bank to get money and came back to the consulate 2 hours later.
Clerk taking his money told him that he may also leave his passport as
everything seems approved, so he did leave the passport and got it back with
visa 5 days later.
So, it is quite possible to have visa issued fast after the interview if
everything else is already concluded and decision is entered into the system
immediately after the interview.
