Default Medicals

Can anyone help! I wondered what the medicals consisted of? Do they look at family history? I have a reflux problem and so have to take pills everyday, will this make a difference.

Thanks for any help.

Our medicals were really just basic health stuff, blood pressure, urine test, chest x-ray (for TB) blood tests(for HIV, Hepatitis,) you so have to fill out a form that asks about your health, questions like "have you ever had"....... Diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, operation, mental illness etc.

Both my husband and I are cancer survivors so we gave the DMP letters from our oncologists basically outlining our diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. We also included the results of our latest check ups.

Hope this helps. If you do a search for medicals on this forum, you will see lots of other peoples experiences as well.

Hi Kate,

In the medical check up, the CIC is concered with health conditions that is infectious or impose a financial burdein in Canada's heakthcare resources.

Anyway, the DMP will do general examionation followed by urine test, x-ray then HIV & Syphilis blood tests.

For reflux, in my point of view, as long as it is NERD (non-erosive reflux oesophigitis) this happens to be stabe condition very unlikely to be complicated. If it is erosive GERD, then I guess he might do some further examinations to rule out any complications. In both conditions it is supposed not to affect your case.

This is from my personal point of view, I don't have enough information on how the CIC are categorizing different disease areas.
