Marshall 23's questions about visas
Hi all, first posting and its a cry for help!
I'll get straight to it, basically we have been trying to emigrate to Ottawa for about 2 years to no avail. Due to federal skilled worker program changing then the very grey area of federal trade program?? anyway I am 34 years so do not qualify for IEC but my wife does! is there any way we all can go over with my wife on the IEC we have two children also.
thanks for any information you can provide

Re: Marshall 23's questions about visas
Hi there, and welcome to BE.
I moved your thread to the immi forum, pls put any visa related questions there rather than the main forum. I've also retitled it, as you've mentioned other visa routes so it's not just about the IEC - that way, those that aren't familiar with the IEC program will hopefully still respond.
You mention the 'grey area' of the FST, why do you think it's a grey area? If you qualify, then that would be your best bet if you want to move permanently.
But if you do only want to go for a year, then the IEC is a great option. You could go over on a visitor visa (and not work), or alternatively, if your wife gets a job that is Skill Level A, O or B job then you could apply for an open work permit - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resourc...013/ob490A.asp

Re: Marshall 23's questions about visas
Hi thanks christmasoompa,
After posting the thread I noticed it was in the wrong section but was not sure how to move thread. Anyway we've had problems with the federal trades program as I am a time served carpenter, I did my apprentice within the company I was working for and never got formal qualifications. But after initially applying under federal skilled worker program just before everything stopped and our applications were returned we attended a few a expo's in the uk trying to find our next move. A certain company were there not mentioning there name ( starts with B) guaranteeing our move to canada with in a year for a small fee!!
Needless to say a lot of money down the drain and still no further.
They apparently were going to use the federal trades program for myself and by me sitting the redseal examination would give me the criteria needed to apply. They are now saying ministry are no longer accepting journey persons examinations until work permit/job offer is in place or I have been assessed by cic?? So we were thinking about doing iec then doing Cec after?? Or is everything we have led to believe a total lie thanks to mr B

Red seal is an inch-provincial endorsement of the provincial exam, it is not an examination body, does not set exam or administer them.
This is from ITABC, the other provinces have similar.
