Dear Mr. Miller My name is Yelena Poltielov, right now my status of immigration to
Canada is waiting for results of medical examination. My questions are: If I want to
get married what is the better way to do it without delaying my process of
immigration:
(1) To get married here in Israel, if so, what is the better time to do it, before
getting visa to Canada or after and what documents we have to bring to the
Embassy of Canada? or
(2) To get married in Canada, but he will come like tourist, if so, will he get some
right to work there? And what are the conditions for my future spouse to come
with me to Canada is it possible at all?
If there is not possible to do it without delaying the process what is the maximum
time of delaying the process?
Sincerely, Yelena

If you don't want to delay your visa then don't get married before landing in Canada.
If you get married now than you must notify visa post, include your husband's
application with all supporting documents, marriage certificate and application fees.
If you get married after your visa is issued but before landing then your visa
becomes invalid and you must return it to the issuing visa post with all mentioned
documents. Processing time will be delayed at least by the time needed to conduct
background/security check and medicals for your husband.
If you future husband may come to Canada as a visitor and you marry him here after
your landing then he may be eligible for the inland processing. In such case he may
be able to apply for Employment Authorization after inland application is approved in
principle (about 3 months after submission). But note that new immigration law
clearly states that inland process will be available only to those spouses who didn't
gain admission to Canada on the base of fraud, misrepresentation or omission, so it
may be tricky.
