Marking Your Goods Boxes......
Hello!
I've been reading some threads and I see that when you move to Canada, its quite ideal to mark and list EVERYTHING that goes in your moving boxes. Seems logical!!!
So, how do you mark the box that contains all your personal files, ie: bank statements, bills, computer stuff, reciepts, insurance, car paymetns, etc.....
Is this something they fuss over at customs (seeing as is isn't a "good" per se, but it is of value to the owner, don't you think?
Or do you suggest putting all this stuff in one mother of a suitcase?
just a thought!.....

I am assuming that's what you would do.... You know, it seems like an odd question, but it just skitted into my head...
If anyone else out there has done this already - how did you do it?
By the way, MHHP, where are you planning on moving to?

I numbered each box (B1 - books, K1- kitchen, etc.) and had a book where I wrote down the number of the box with a list of the contents. This could be as general as "clothes" or detailed if it was valuable or electronic items. They never even looked at my boxes or my list, just waved me though after processing the import papers for my car. I was ready if they asked, but it was never an issue. If you are flying rather than driving in or are using professional movers, they might be more ticky about it though.
