Default March 2002 applicant - request for additional info

Hi folks,
I applied in March 2002, and a few months ago, I received a letter from Buffalo that my file was going to be transferred to LA as I required an interview. Today, I received a generic letter from Buffalo, which basicaly asks me to send them a letter listing my personal details, emloyment history, and residential history since March 2002. (The purpose being to conduct background checks)I guess my questions are :
1) Should I just send them a letter stating my employment, and residential history, or do I need to send them a letter from my employer as well. I've been working for the same employer for the last 4 years, so requesting a letter isn't a problem. I just want to know if I need to or should get another reference letter from my employer and mail it along with the listing of details.
2) The letter was sent from Buffalo (as per the envelope). There is no return address on the letter. Should I reply (with my details) to Buffalo, marking the letter to the attention of the immigration officer who sent me the request? (I'm asking because I thought my file was going to be/ was already transferred to LA).
3) Is this normal? i.e., to be told your file is bieng transferred to a sattelite office/ consulate, and then to receive mail from Buffalo?
Thanks.

If the letter does not ask for reference letters or other documdntation, do
not provide it. Processing seems to be continuing on Buffalo. If the
letterhead and envelope are from the Buffalo Consulate that is where it is
to be sent.

Jim,

Could you please advise me on this:

In my assessment letter from Buffalo, there was a checkmark next to the paragraph that asks for additional employment information, visa status documentation, recent paychecks, etc., but among those only the item W-2 forms was circled and 2002 written next to it.

Does it mean that I only need to send the copy of W-2 form or the whole update on my employemnt, including paychecks, etc.?

Thank you

hi,
I applied in March and received a similar letter last week. I just
sent them a letter stating my employment details and residential
history since 2002. I did not send any original or proof as they did
not ask for it. At the time of assesment when they asked for the
details they had mentioned ...to be notorized or photocopy or
original. So, I dont think there is any need for sending them the
original now.

Since i applied i have changed my residence twice. My visa status
also changed since filing the application. So, I thought that is why
it came to me. And was about to post the news when i saw your
details... exactly similar to mine.

Keep me informed.. ... as what you send.
goodluck

I sent it to Buffalo address.

I got a same letter asking updated personal history for background check, no
wonder there is huge delay in immigration process nowadays. I am just
thinking that they are going to ask this again and again in each 3-6 month
interval and therefore there might be no end on background/security checks.
Damn!

Thanks for the help folks. I guess I'll just send them a letter with the relevant positions/dates/residences.
