Just trying to help a friend.
The LMO he has, has a LMO duration until 23 August 2014.
The company he works for cannot get a new LMO.
He has been issued a work permit that goes past this date.

Questions:

Can he still work for the same employer without the LMO as he still has a valid work permit?

I am thinking the LMO/work permit are together and one is not valid without the other....may be wrong.

The 23 August date could possibly be when the LMO has to be presented i.e. within the 6 months from when it was issued. The LMO will actually say the duration it should be issued for i.e. 6 months 2 years.

Employment duration 2 years...

So I am thinking employment is till 23 August 2014.

He is saying work permit is PAST this date, don't think he is lieing, but believes he can stay past 23 August????
He arrived after others so was added to LMO...Which is why I believe his work permit is for longer????

What do you professionals think?

His work permit will have an expiry date thats all that matters. He could have activated the LMO in Dec 2012 so the expiry date would be Dec 2014.
