Default late night landing question

So I am driving from St Louis to Vancouver to land in roughly 6.5
weeks and a potential predicament popped into my head... here is the
situation:

If all goes as planned and we arrive at the border on time, it should
be roughly midnight on a thursday. i know the peace arch border is
open 24/7. the question is, is immigration open at that hour or do
they have normal business hours? I cant find anything to support this
either way. I'm not talking about customs here. I'm talking about the
immigration office. Anyone landed late at night or know if immigration
at the BC border crossings is open 24/7?

Peace Arch (Douglas) is open 24/7, as is immigration. It may be a
little slower then, but it's available. Since you're going to be arriving
so late in the evening, you may not want to go through the rigmarole
associated with that and then have to go to wherever it is you're planning
on spending the night.

Why not plan on staying overnight somewhere south (i.e. Seattle,
Bellingham etc) and mosey on up after a restful night's sleep? Just a
little thought, is all.

Otherwise, enjoy your trip and drink lots of coffee or sum'tin. :-)

i did a little more searching on the internet and found this on the
CIC website... not sure if it applies or not, but it would be a rather
unpleasant surprise:

After-hours examination
For entry into Canada, outside of normal service hours (payable at
time of examination) $100*
*For the first four hours of the examination; $30 for each additional
hour or part thereof.

since i pulled it directly from the CIC website, i assume it has to do
with immigration. any ideas if this pertains to landing "after-hours"?

Yeah I know it would probably be easier just to stay the night in
Bellingham or Seattle, but when our house is just another 20 minutes
across the border, why not sleep in your own bed? On the other hand,
if i am going to be charged $100 for going through at night, i would
rather just spend that money on a hotel.

Thoughts?

No the call out fee does not apply to landings at Borders where there is
Immigration 24/7. If you are going through Douglas/Pac Hwy. there is one
Immigration officer on after midnight and s/he could be at either Port, so
you may have to wait a bit, but you will be processed. If you go to
Huntingdon, you will have to wait until 7:00, as CIC will not do landings on
call outs.

A little research is a dangerous thing. The fee would only apply if you
came in outside of normal working hours, something that is impossible at a
24/7 port of entry.
