Landing Question
Hi guys
We are now 9 weeks from landing and are wondering how we can show our 12,500 in funds when we land. We have put many thousands into our house there so that is gone. Then we are selling our home here and that will only be in the bank friay evening and we fly on sat morning so wont be able to get an official statement! We wont have the cash available until we get that money.
can we use stock details to show the cash.

I don't think stocks would be acceptable as the funds have to be unencumbered and stocks can go down as well as up
I worried like mad over this and went to the bank branch to get a printed statement but in the end no one at the immigration desk at the airport asked to see proof of funds. I don't think very many people have been asked for proof of funds.

Re: Landing Question
hi Colin,
they may or may not ask you to show proof of funds. You might be just lucky if they dont ask you. but if they ask you, then you would have to show proof of funds. ie either you have it with you in your hand as bank draft or something or you could have it in a bank, of which you would have to show an ATM printout on the day you left.
if you are unable to show freely transferable funds at the time of landing, you are at risk. be prepared, it is unadvisable to risk at this late stage.
