Hi,
Got a interview at the LA consulate in a few days. Could not get birth certificate
and California PC in time. Will this impact the interview process?
thanks

Hi:
You may want to inform the visa officer at your interview that you were not able to
obtain your birth certificate or the police clearance in time. The visa officer will
most likely make a decision pending the presentation of those documents. This may
delay the issuance of your immigrant visa if you are successful in your interview.
Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.

No, it should not have a negative impact. Try to demonstrate that you have applied
for the clearance, and advise the official that you will provide it immediately upon
its availability.
