Hi all,

I've been staying in Canada for 7 years on student visa. I will be getting my
Bachelor of Computer Science degree by the end of this year. In addition, I've
finished 2 coop work terms and currently on the third work term (4 months per work
term). So my questions are:

1. Can the work terms be consider ligitable work experience? (I work full time as a
software developer)

2. Given that I haven't got my degree yet and haven't accumulated 1 year work
experience yet, should I apply for perm. resident now? The reason I asked this
question is because if normal time frame for processing application is from 6
months to a year, by the time they process my application, I would have got the
degree as well as accumulated a year work experience.

Thank you.

Hi, If you want to apply PR before you graduate, you should get a letter from your
university to proof that you will be graduated in this year and get the official
transcript from your university. These letters are very important for your
application because you haven't obtained your degree yet. Also, the Co-Op work terms
can be considered as work experience because you worked as full-time.
