Inter company transfer
Hello,
I'm considering that an inter company transfer will probably be the most likely next step for our immigration if I'm not on the list for FSW this year (quite likely), can anyone confirm for me whether my accompanying spouse will be able to get an open work permit please? If not this will probably mean this route not being open to us either because we will both need to work.
I think its a yes, and I've checked the Wiki and search on this forum and CIC website but can't find the relevant info to confirm.
Thank you

Yippee!! That's great, just have to see if I can get a transfer now. I've actually only been in my current role for 2 months, so have to stay a while yet before I put in a request, it'll probably still be quicker than FSW in May though :-)
Thanks for your help

Just checking, but you know you need to have worked for them for at least one year before you can qualify for an intra-company TWP, so you've got 10 months to go?

Yes, contractually I need to be in the company for 12mths before I can apply for any moves. I assume this is also part of the visa requirement too. Fortunatley I am really enjoying my new role and company so I'm happy to stay and see what is available after I've been here a while :-)

Hi,
An open work permit is possible with an intracompany transfer, however same as any other TWP your job would need to be a skill level 0, A or B. If your skill level is C or D this will only work for you.
As above you need at least 12 months with the company. You also need to fall into one of the 3 intracompany categories of being specialist knowledge (needs about 3 years with the company) Being management or being a director.
If you tick all these boxes this is a great route to go

Re: Inter company transfer
It is indeed. Have you seen this Wiki article? http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Intra-...ransfer-Canada
Fortunately I believe I tick the boxes of the NOC code, Managerial level and specialised knowledge. Not needing an LMO will definitely be an advantage!
Thanks all,
