Default Info for Sponsorship/Permanent Residency

Hi all. I am a Canadian citizen living abroad looking to sponsor my partner. We are currently filling in the forms but are confused about a couple of things.

First, sponsorship - do we need to do a statutory declaration of common law union if it is a straightforward sponsorship? It's confusing on the form as it says you need one and then it says you need one 'if you have a co-signer and he or she is your common law partner'. Which is it?

Second, we thought we needed to send police and medical examination certificates later on in the process when asked but it says that they need to be sent with the application form. Do they? Or can we send them later?

Thanks for any help you can give us.

you need to include everything the forms ask for, ie med receipt, police checks payment, pictures 8 of.

You do need to send the declaration and be ready to back it up with proof, ie. rent/mortgage papers, household bills in joint names etc etc

You send them later with all other ways of immigration, with family/spousal class you send them with your application. you could send them later but it will hold up your application and they won't even look at it without them. it would be wasting your time, other applicants time and immigrations time not to send them now.

Good luck
