Hi I'm thinking of applying to Canada from the UK.

Both these queries apply to my wife who will be a dependent of mine.

I hear that in the USA you do not need to send a Indian Police Certificate does the
same apply for the UK. Also my wife has not got her birth certificate .. is there
anything else I can send as a substitute for that, since getting hold of it may
involve a lengthy process.

Thanks in Advance

Police certificates are necessary, School Leaving certificates are also acceptable
and/or written affadavit of parents on a stamped paper. By the way, u dont need to
worry about Indian police certificates, they will do it themselves. I also advise you
to read the experts as I am not but have little experience. Good luck

London has a very good kit. Read the instructions carefully. Just = because BUF does
not want the Indian PCC this does not mean London will = be the same.

Birth certificates are available for younger people. If you do not have = one, you
must use another document that predates the intention to = migrate. A shool leaving
certificate, secondary school certificates or = mark sheets, a marriage certificate,
a family registration or ration = card, affidavits made prior to the intention to
migrate and in the very = worst case a current affidavit.

Current affidavits made for a specific purpose may be of little value = since they
are self serving. In some cases, this becomes more important = than others.
