importing personal items
Hi everybody,
I need an advice. I need to ship some of my things from the storage in
California to Alberta. It will be around 7-8 paper boxes with used
things like some clothes, photos, etc.
Importing them by car or UHOL is not a option for me.
I am looking into those shipping companies that use trucks for
shipment.
Is that the best way? Does anybody have expereinces, suggestions
(means of shipment, names of reliable companies). I should add that I
am looking for the cheapest way of shipping, timing is not important
at all.
Thanks in advance.

Re: importing personal items
Yes, thanks, I saw lots of resources about different moving companies.
My question is if any of you guys had to ship just 7-8 boxes, I don't
consider it a move. It just seems that those truck moving companies
are more interested in having large items move.
I saw on this forum somebody suggesting using USPS, but not UPS (as
they have high customs cost.)
Do you know how they handle customs? If a person is a new immigrant
how do they handle? It has to mention that it is part of the goods to
follow? What if the person is just a visitor will they tax on used
items?
