IMM 5409 Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union form
Hi guys!
Just filling the IMM 5409 (Common-Law Union declaration form) in for our ITA, and confused by what needs to go in the top-most boxes (under 'if applicable'). We're still in the UK applying under the FSW, however should this box state where we're trying to get to? Canada and British Columbia? As obviously our address details are included further down.
Small Q I know, but about to pay to get it signed by a solicitor so don't want it wrong and have to change it!!
thanks!
Diana

What DigitalGhost said. Also, the solicitor who countersigned ours was confused by it if its any consolation. Nowhere to put an actual address which seemed odd, just a generalised location.

You're very welcome, good luck.
Tbh, I wouldn't stress about that form too much as long as you have nothing to hide. The point of that form is for the principal applicant to make a formal declaration that their common law relationship is genuine. Thus, if it's later proven to be a relationship of convenience then both the sponsor and the sponsored accompanying partner can be deported from Canada for misrepresentation. It's the notary public's signature that really matters the most.
If you're relationship is genuine then you have nothing to be concerned about.
