I'm engaged. Can my fiance apply as a family member.
Hello Experts,
I'm from Pakistan, currently doing Masters in CS in USA. I want to apply for canadian
immigration. Now the thing I'm confused with is that I'm engaged for 2 yrs now. How
can i apply for my fiancee.
Can i apply for her as a family member?
if not, does she has to apply as an independant applicant?
if i apply with her, can i get points for personal adaptability as she is also done
her masters (17 yrs of education).
If I apply, does she has to appear in the interview in US too, as she lives
in Pakistan?
Regards,
Shani

Re: I'm engaged. Can my fiance apply as a family member.
You cannot include your fiancée in your application as your dependant as she is not
your spouse and she is not your common-law partner as you are not even living
together. Applications for permanent residence in Canada may include only the
following:
. the principal applicant;
. his/her spouse or common law partner;
. dependent child of the principal applicant AND of his/her spouse or
common-law partner;
. dependent children of the dependent children of the principal applicant AND of
his/her spouse or common-law partner.
So, she will have to apply on her own unless you get married first.
