Yes, you must leave Canada and re-enter in order to land. And yes, you must
have proof of settlement funds.

I read that under the new law people in Canada doesnt need to show proof of
funds.Or is just for foreign workers in Canada??

providing proof on funds.

I think you can adjust status in Canada....check with CIC Canada to be sure.
