Default I just received Initial Assessment

Hi Everybody,
We received our initial assessment yesterday. Interview
waived. They asked us to do finger print check from RCMP for my
husband and for me RCMP and FBI. Also they send us the medical form
and informed us Do not complete your medicals until 6 months from the
date of this letter. This letter was sent to us on 13th Of December
2002. but we did not receive them till the Immigration called us
because they got lost in mail.

Our timeline:

Applied on: 7th November 2001
AOR: 27th December2001
Initaial Assessment: Issued on 13th December 2002 received on 14th
January 2003.

Do I have to wait till six months complete before going for medical.
Please advise.

Yes, you should wait as advised. Doing medicals sooner will not speed up the
process at all and may cause medicals to expire before visa can be issued.

I finally received my initial assessment today:
My timeline is as follows:

Applied on: 6th December 2001
AOR: 30th January 2002
Initaial Assessment and medicals: Issued on 11th January 2002
received on 17th
January 2003.

They do require some additional docs such as my Last paystub, W-2
(2001) and fresh FBI clearence. But I DO NOT have to wait six months
to complete medicals. I thoroughly read the assessment and it says
complete the medicals in 60 days, also I have 90 days to send the
additional docs.
As I am leaving for Pakistan for few weeks,I am thinking of having my
medicals done in Pakistan, as far as I know there are no geographical
restrictions in performing medicals.
any suggestions are welcome,
group-- Thanks for all your help and support

Why some people got to wait till six month for medical. We applied as
independent category. My husband is a US citizen. I am a Malaysian
citizen. I receieved initial assessment. Interview waived. They need
my FBI finger prints and RCMP. Whereas for my husband only RCMP
because he did sent his FBI finger prints with the application. I too
don't understand why six months. Anyone has an answer. Please advise.

Thanks
