Question (HRDC job offer confirmed) application waiting times

Am I right in thinking:

Skilled worker PR applications will normally get a decision within 6 months of submission if applicant has a HRDC approved job offer

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????

Thank you

Where did you get your idea from? Some visa posts claim to put applications with approved job offers on some sort of faster track, but it is not like for example 2 years of average processing in particular visa post is reduced to 6 months. Maybe to 12 - 18 months.

..I am sure I read it on the HRDC website last week.
I've just spent about 1/2 hour trying to find it.

I thought it was somewhere around here:

http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/asp/gateway.a...m.shtml&hs=hxe

-it kinda figures tho, no? the emplyer would probably be given some sort of time frame in which to expect the foreign workers employment to begin.

maybe I'm hallucinating again. I'll have to have another look later.

Thanks

just an after thought Andrew:

Could the Immigration ministry really expect an employer to wait more than 6 months for their 'sponsored' foreign worker to get his visa processed??

Thanks

If employer badly needs worker now and can't find a Canadian candidate then instead of applying to HRSDC for Arranged Employment Opinion such employer should apply for Labour Market Opinion and when such is granted foreign worker may apply for Work Permit and be in Canada in matter of weeks.

Arranged Employment Opinion is for those who were offered to be hired after they become a PR, regardless how many years it takes for the process.

You are trying to read between lines and find what is not even there my friend. I'm not confirming nor denying that you are hallucinating though...

I have to say, that from the point of view of a visa applicant with a limited understanding of the whole process, it seems to me that:

a positive AEO will help get a PR applicant points but essentially there is no obligation for either the employer or visa applicant to honor the arrangement.

right, I'm off to find that 6 month reference. Good day sir.

gratefully,
Tim

This is wired. How the company wants to wait to get the permit for 9 months ? they could hire someone else right away.
