How OHIP knows I was abroad for long time ?

How OHIP knows I was abroad for long time ?

Even if I was in Europe could I somehow sneak in and avoid applying for OHIP
again? I have to add I pay rent and bills in Ontario even when I'm traveling
in Europe. Would OHIP notice I was not here if I entered Canada through
US-Canadian border.

Does OHIP enforce its policy? Or, maybe OHIP is bluffing and people who know
the rules unnecessary reapply for coverage after coming back.
