Can anyone who has an experience tell me how to obtain a "no criminal record from
FBI" step by step, and possible time frame(after 9/11)?

Thanks

Step 1: Write to the FBI for a finger-printing form at ... FBI Criminal Justice
Information Services Division (CJIS) Division Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306

Step 2: Go to Mailboxes etc and get the finger-print ...

Step 3: Send the Finger printed form along with the Petition to the Canadian
Consulate ...

Step 4: Drink some beer and be happy until you get ur PR ...

Thanks for your reply, but how long does it take to get the form and reply from FBI
after 9/11?

To obtain an FBI clearance, you must do the following:

Get fingerprinted: Go to a local police station, other local authority such as Motor
Vehicle Bureau, or private fingerprinting agency and obtain a fingerprint form.
Complete it and get fingerprinted. You may find a reluctance to fingerprint in the
U.S. if you simply state that it is for immigration purposes. This is because U.S.
immigration authorities have placed restrictions on fingerprinting for U.S.
immigration purposes. So be very clear in explaining that you require fingerprinting
for Canadian immigration purposes and you should not have a problem. Some of our
clients have advised that they obtained their fingerprints in the U.S. by stating
that it was required for a request under Freedom of Information legislation.

You must then forward the completed fingerprint form, with a certified check or
money order for US$18 per person made payable to the "U.S. Treasury" to the
following address:

FBI - CJIS Division Attn: SCU, Mod D-2 1000 Custer Hollow Road Clarksburg, West
Virginia 26306 USA

Include a letter stating the request and reason for the FBI Clearance certificate.

1. Are there different fingerprint forms out there or there is only one?
2. If there are different forms out there does that matter which one I send to FBI,
California State police, or Texas State police for "no criminal record"?
3. What exactly should I write on the letter to FBI requesting for "no criminal
record"? how about California State police and Texas State police?
4. Will FBI directly send the result back to me or to Canada? how about California
State police and Texas State police?
5. How much do I need to pay to California State police and Texas State police for
the record? Where do I send the request to? Is there any information regarding how
to obtain "no criminal record" out there on the internet that I can search?

Thank you so much in advance
