How long is refusal kept in databases?
Hi, I am posting a question for a friend of mine -- she was refused a
visitor's visa in 2000. At that time they stamped one page of her passport.
She has changed her passport since then and would like to apply again for
visitor's visa.
The question is -- will they have a record of her old refusal or not?
Should it influence it in any way?
Thanks,
/Dan

Re: How long is refusal kept in databases?
Changing passport won't help as record of the refusal will always pop-up.

An electronic record is maintined in Caips almost indefinitly and can
be accessed by any office visa office. The match is made by name and
date of birth. What you should be doing is finding out the reasons for
ther efusal in the first place. This can be done by reading the CAIPS
notes. The reason for the refusal may be minor, a missing document or
a major reason. Whateve the reason there is no point re applying and
never never withhold the truth about previus applications.
