How does our son join us.?
Hi all
We are temp residents and we have a two year visa. Hubby has the visa and myself and youngest have working and study permits. My eldest is due to graduate next year and hopefully will have his degree in forensic science.. Not sure what line of work he will go in yet!!! Anyhow, he would like to com join us in Canada and we are wondering which visa he should get. He will be 21 when he joins us. If anyone knows or can advise we would appreciate your help. Many thanks btw, we are hoping to get PR in the future but his employees are sponsoring us again when temp visa runs out. Thanks guys

Provided the application for PR is made and received by CIC before your elder son's 22nd Birthday he would be classed as a dependent and could be put on your application as an accompanying dependent, provided he is not married or in a common law relationship.
If he is over 22 at the time then he would have be in continuous full time education at the time of application and until such time as PR is granted to be put down on your application as an accompanying dependent.
If he wanted to come out and stay before or during the application for PR being made I would suggest he apply for an International Experience Canada (IEC) working holiday visa. This would allow him to work for a year and he could then apply for a 2nd years' IEC (provided the rules have not changed). Whilst he is here he could then see if he can find a job and depending on which Province you are residing in, could then possibly apply for PR in his own right as a FSW.
Hope that helps!

As Siouxie has said, your best bet is to apply for PR asap so that he can be included on the application.
Good luck.
