Hi,

I started my process for immigration to Canada a few months back for myself and my
wife. We became parents of a daughter last month here in USA. She is now a US
citizen. I have a few questions if someone can help me.

1. Do I need to do some kind of addendum to include her in my application even if I
do not want to abandon her US citizen status ??

2. She obviously will need to join us in going to Canada when we land there. Is there
any kind of long term visa (with minimal fees and expenses), she can get so as to
stay with us there while maintaining her current citizenship.

3. Will I, my wife, and daughter need to land in Canada at the same time, or it is
possible that they go visit our relatives in our native country for an extended
period of time until I get a good job in Canada, get settled some place
comfortably, and they join me at that time ??

Thanks for the answers in advance.

Hareesh,

Yes, you must add your daughter to your Canadian PR application - but note that by
taking Canadian residency, or even later a citizenship she will not lose her US
citizenship, unless she willingly relinquishes it.

You don't need to land all at the same time, as long as all of you land before the
expiration of immigration visa which is usually valid for up to 12 months from the
date of medical tests. But remember that in the case of separate landing the
principal applicant must land first.
