I am planning to go Canada within 2 weeks and want to know the following. As per certain
posts and answers to those posts by the eminent Lawyers, seem to suggest that US/GERMAN
etc bank statements are good proof of settlement funds. I intend to a part of fund in cash
and rest I intend to transfer it when I open my bank account. I have my funds parked in
USD account( FNCR ,as it is called in India). Can a latest bank statement from my Bank be
a suffcient proof of settlement funds.
Your experience and replies will be highly appreciated

Hi:
It is acceptable to provide a photocopy of your bank statement as proof of funds available
for settlement.
For information on landing in Canada go to

Yes, such a bank statement from a a US account would be sufficient evidence of settlement
funds at the time of your landing.

Proof of Funds
Mr. Cohen,
I was reading the old discussions to clear some doubts about proof of funds when landing. I'll be landing in 2 weeks from US.
Is it still enough to show latest (2 weeks back dated) certificate of proof from my US bank. OR I must carry the money in the form of cashier's check or MO to port of entry...
Please advise...
Thanx,
Ajit Kumar
