Default Help needed:

I have applied in Nov 2001. I have applied in buffalo.
For proof of funds, I have sent a bank draft of 15,000 canadian dollars.
Will it help in expediting my case.

Did you include the bank draft for $15,000 with the application?! Or the copy
of a draft? To whom it was payable?

You WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of absolute idiot are you ??????????????????????????????????

You sent the consulate a draft for $15,000 ?????????????????????????????

What are they going to do with your money ?

Did you think you were trying to bribe them into processing faster or
something ?

Proof of funds is what it says ... that you have sufficient funds to be
able to settle in Canada ... What they want is current documentation
that shows that you should have those funds on landing.

Sheesh ... thanks for a gift to the Canadian taxpayer! Shame they'll
probably send it back to you!

Hello Sir,

Yes I sent as a bank draft ... original copy to Immigration .. Payable to
myself (obviously not someone else) so that they can get the proof that I
have the amount .. and since they can keep the draft .. it will also be
another proof that I will have the same amount if my case is succeeded bcoz
that draft can only be cashed by myself... So they have the money and only
be cashed by me ... How is it Andrew and Stuart...

My word, I can't imagine anyone doing anything quite so outrageous.
Since you've sent a bank draft, it may be payable to only you, but it is
equivalent to cash, and if it should get lost, you're out $15,000 until
you can prove that it was not cashed. You may be without that money for
up to a year or longer if it gets lost!

Bottom line, I hope it doesn't get lost!

No, sending cash like that will definitely NOT speed up your
application.

You should submit proof of funds, not money itself!!!

Bank draft has the expiration date usually (6 months or so) and it is already
invalid - you will have a lot of troubles and time wasted to recover it from
issuing bank. And you didn't gain any benefit by sending your money to visa
post... :-(((
