Healthcare worker visa
Hi,
My partner has an open work permit that states she can not work in 'field healthcare' roles. She is a physiotherapist by training and we understand without further exams she can not work in Canada but for the last five years she has worked in healthcare management. Does this clause exclude her from working in anything in healthcare or just direct patient contact?
Anyone experience this before and can advise?
Thanks
Julie

Re: Healthcare worker visa
Not sure of the direct answer, but I suspect the exclusion is related to the fact that TWPs for medical positions require the passing of a medical, which an "open" permit does not. I would think that it applies only to patent contact, but would not like to wager any money on that!
If they can find an employer willing to do the paperwork I imagine the option is there to change to a non open work permit with the medical...
