Usually health card is issued once applicant is eligible for coverage, although sometimes it may be issued earlier but will not be valid until coverage kicks in. What's the hurry? You are not eligible yet anyway.

Just applied for it in BC, here I'm told it can take up to 90 days?. You need PR card or landing papers for ID. there doesnt seem to be any rush here as we've been here longer than the 90 days. As said 1st 90 days dont matter, anyways. Good luck

Question Re: health card

But how long does it take to get the health card in Ontario, if you apply after being there for three months (i.e., when the eligibility starts)?

Thanks in advance.

Just walked in to Manitoba Health on Weds and got one instantly

I'm assuming that since I was told to show the card every time I accessed a healthcare service, you guys in Ontario won't be getting the actual card until your 3mth wait period is up?

Once again, does anyone know how long it takes to get the health card in Ontario once you apply for it after being there for three months?

Hoping to hear from someone soon.

Anyone? Any Ontarian who knows the timeline? Mr. Miller? Other gurus out there?

I guess if u have already been there for 3 months and then applied for it; then, u should recieve it really soon, maybe in a 2-3 weeks time!
this is my guess, even though I am not living in Ontario..

When you apply for a Health card in Ontario, you are given a letter which confirms that you have applied and details your personal information and a date of validity for health coverage.

If you do not recieve your health card after 30 days from this date of validity, then there is a 1 800 phone number to the back of the form which you can call to enquire about the delay.

You can call this phone number and confirm the above.

Hope this helps
