Hi All:

I just want to let everyone know that the van-immi mailing list is
organizing a Group Chat for people who are planning to move to Vancouver or
have already landed in Vancouver. We will generally discussing matters
regarding living in Vancouver and NOT be discussing about immigration
issues.

The Group Chat is scheduled for Thursday, February 5th at 10:00pm Pacific
Time.

For more info for the arrangements, refer to message 4627 on the van-immi

Hi All:

Just a little reminder that the Group Chat will be on as scheduled (Thu,
10PM PT).

Thanks to all (Al, Ho, BD, Mark, Royann, Peter, Sabrina, etc) in helping
resolve the problem with the (Java) Chat problem on WinXP. However, as per
instructions below, we will be using Yahoo! Messenger. I believe this is
the best approach as it works across platforms (PCs, Macs) and allows Group
Chat (unlike MSN Messenger).

Pls download and install Yahoo! Messenger, if not already.

Pls DO NOT use the (Java) Chat feature on the van-immi site.

Members from the other boards (such as britaintocanadaimmigration,
britishcolumbiafriends, Brits2Vancouver, imm_ca_sg, taiwanese2canada, etc)
may and are encouraged attend this chat. However, I will not post the
invitation on the boards but pls do spread the word if you want.

I THINK I got it figured out. Here are the arrangements:

http://messenger.yahoo.com/

-- I will create a Chat Room called "van-immi Group Chat" about 30 minutes
prior to our start time.
-- To access the Chat Room from Yahoo! Messenger, use Tools --> Yahoo!
Chat --> Join Room ...
-- In the "Join Room" dialog box, select Cultures & Community --> Groups
-- In the same "Join Room" dialog box, select the "User Room" tab
-- The "van-immi Group Chat" option should be listed. Select that and
click "Go to Room".

In case something goes wrong, I will send an email to
[email protected] and let everyone know.

Let me know if I have missed something or if you have any other
suggestion.
