Oh Stuart, I think you will find that the statistics for the UK are heavily doctored! Statistics are lies, more lies and damn lies!

The UK unemployment figures are heavily distorted and misleading. i.e Total nonsense! They're based on the number of claimants rather than those actively seeking work. Also the south east with low unemployment tends to mask the higher unemployment figures elsewhere. In reality the unemployment in Britain is probably similar to Canada. Many parts (Nth Est, Sth Wales, Merseyside) higher.
