Green card ?????
Hey buddy, any idea of the processing time??
It is 8 - 10 years if your blood relative sponsors you, maybe more.

And if you work for a company on an H-1, it is modern day slavery
in most cases. File for a green card and wait and wait, all the
time unsure of when you might be laid off.

Hey Buddy,

If you marry a US Citizen, you can get your Green card in one year and US
Citizenship within 3 years.
The reason you get Canadian PR status is that Canada cannot sustain its
population level without immigration, while United States is already
populated. Simple arithmetics.

United States most probably benefited from his skills and he paid his taxes.
Him taking a Canadian PR is a loss for United States. His only mistake is
that he did not marry a US Citizen to get his green card.
My brother got his Green Card thru marriage in 1982 and everybody in my
family is US Citizen now.
On the other hand Canada is a pathetic country who cannot sustain its
population without immigration and cannot exist without United States.
By the way, get out of pathetic Toronto before you get SARS.

A friendly advice, don't tell a Canadian to butt-out from a forum that is
about Canada and matters to ALL Canadians. Don't expect that just you,
newcomers, to have a right to express your thoughts or ask questions about
your present or future intentions.
My cousin and his lovely wife left Romania in 1987, lived happily in Israel
for 7 years, got Israeli citizenship, and from 1994 they are in US, on Long
Island, they got the Green Card and for a year they are proud US Citizens.
They love their new country, they did not come to US just to runaway to
another country. Or at least now they can do it anytime, they are already US
citizens. If for my cousin, who is no superman, things have worked well,
immigration-green card-citizenship, also he has a very good and well paid
job, they have a nice house 40 miles east of Manhattan just off Long Island
Expressway, they have two little kids born in US, I will never understand
why others did not make it in US, a such free and democratic country. But
hey, we Romanians NEVER give-up, and most of the time we achieve the goals
we have had at the beginning of the "battle".
My sorry face?, I think you just got the wrong person... I just spent a
wonderful Victoria Day weekend in DC/Virginia/Maryland and the very sexy
Ocean City, MD, and I already planned the next long weekend, Canada Day, to
be spent cruising New England, up to Cape Cod. I have a good job, a
wonderful family, I am very healthy, why should I be sorry? Or do YOU want
me to be sorry?
I don't thing that after 11 years in this country I can again come-up with
some good news, immigration-related ones, simple because I already passed
this stage. But that does not stop me to insert my views, my thoughts of any
kind, at any time, as long as this forum is about my country. I, and any
Canadian as well, have the right to do so.
Enjoy your stay in Canada. Hopefully longer than 9 years...

Yet... you and your cousin "gave up" in Romania !!! Why couldn't you
peolple make up there?

And... what is so special (worth mentioning) about Jews getting
Israeli Citizenship and on that basis.... later on, US's?

I agree .... particularly on the term of "wonderful people", and more
particularly its application to Americans or Canadians like yourself.

I really "wonder" on the degree of narrowmindedness... as displayed by
the prays/wishes you proclaimed in above.

I know that your name connects you to the Middle-East area, so I won't blame
you for not knowing the word COMMUNISM. But you Arabs, especially
Palestinians, had a real good time while Ceaucescu was in power, Yasser
Arrafat and that Romanian criminal were in fact very close friends. Same
with the Syrian, Libyan and the other leaders in your area (I call them gang
members), sorry but now one of them is in hell (or maybe for you is
paradise), and this is Saddam...
My cousin left in 1987, I did it at the beginning of '89, communism in
Romania fell in Dec. '89.

    > And... what is so special (worth mentioning) about Jews getting

My cousin did not leave Israel before getting the Israeli citizenship, and
he did not live and work hard in the US without being rewarded with the US
citizenship. Contrary with most of the H1B people on this ng, mostly Asians,
that do not make it in the States (after spending tones of years down there)
and, trying not to go back in their third world country, they apply to
immigrate to Canada. And they leave the US without the benefits of the Green
Card or US citizenship.

Default CHRIS AND AMIR!

I don’t know if any of you has children; maybe then your thinking would be different. I don’t think so that you do, because you don’t realise that this world is a far worse off place to live now more than it was before Sept11.01. Especially for them.

Your constant bickering leads me to believe that you guys take refuge in what seems easy. That is to hate; hate each others color, lifestyle, religion, beliefs etc.

Both of you sound like intelligent people. Why can’t you utilise you intelligence to live and let live and get on with your lives. Other than propagate hate and pass comments to and fro like a couple of five year olds. Grow up. Both of you reek of arrogance and ignorance.

And u know what if we don’t respect each other we will become a society that will cannibalize itself. Do you want to bring up your child in a climate of hate and despise?

Here in Canada, I am a proud to say that I work in a place with people all over the world. My neighbour is a Jew and is a close friend, my best friend from school is a roman catholic, and majority of my co-workers are Muslims. I get along perfectly fine with them on a daily basis and haven’t had a problem in the last 10 years. I greatly respect all the religions and always am interested to understand more about them. It did not take me a hell of an IQ to get there just the policy that you are OK and I am OK.

Our families and us are only concerned about providing a decent living for our children and work hard every day for that. I am proud to say that I am Canadian and that these are the values of a Canadian. Just look around you in Toronto, you can’t survive if you don’t believe in diversity.

Quit it guys and move on……….

misfire!! guess again.

How about the friendship of Reagan administration with Saddam....?
when he was using USA's and UK's "gifted" chemical weapons in 80s..?
for further satisfaction try searching for a CIA report of early 1980s
about Saddam: "He is son of bitch, BUT HE IS 'OUR' SON OF BITCH"
(source: BBC's website.. about 2,3 yrs. back)

And... what sort of good time Yasser Arafat might had with
Ceaucescu... which didn't deleiver anything to Palestinians?
If any... that'd be evidently nothing in comparison to Sharon's with
American's criminal.
surprised ?? yes you should.. because you believe in "God Bless
America and let it **** every other" and that makes you belong to not
ALL Americans/Canadians....but some "wonderful people".
